Hey Nick. I have something a little trickier thats bugging me - how to extract text from an image uploaded to Inkscape. For example, an image of a Japanese drift car with Japanese writing. I clipped the writing first, added it to my own image, but I cannot create a transparent background behind the text. How do I do this? (The writing is mine generated by ChatGPT).

Thanks for the video, I upgraded to the most recent version and the selector tool is missing from the toolbar. The first tool is the node tool? Any ides how to fix this?

No need to count 15 steps. You need to select the nodes, press "Show Transformation Handles for Selected Nodes" and move them symmetrically while holding "Shift"...

You don't have to make the edges vertical or horizontal to extend the nodes, you can do it simply by holding down alt+ctrl while dragging the selected nodes.. great tutorial as usual :)
